I am so excited to share the books we picked for our online book club this year. Since we are all about stories that inspire, empower and uplift, we have chosen titles that are sure to do just that.

Best Book Club Books for 2025

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am so excited about this year's Ivi's Reads Book Club selections. What a lineup!

As we dive into the pages of these brilliant works, we will travel back in time, stand up for justice, solve mysteries, and fall in love. New this year are our monthly themes, so if you have not read the book of the month, you could share one of similar theme you've read or wish to read. Also new is our Classics August event - a month dedicated to the classics works of fiction.

Whether you are part of a book club in search of the next month's pick, curating your personal reading list, or a member of our own online Book Club, the books below are worth checking out. This is the perfect reading list for fans of historical fiction, women's fiction, mysteries, magical realism, and romance. Our selections feature fiction that inspires, empowers, and uplifts. They are heartwarming light reads that are sure to bring joy to our lives. We do NOT do horror, true crime, sci-fi, erotica, or anything controversial, politically or otherwise. The idea is to escape to a fantasy world that would bring us joy.

JANUARY: THE SECRET OF PEMBROOKE PARK

Starting the year off with The Secret of Pembrooke Park by one of our favorites and returning author Julie Klassen. JANUARY is our Regency Romance month. This Austenesque read combines three of my favorite genres - historical fiction, women's fiction and regency romance. An uplifting read to start the year with. 

FEBRUARY: AN IRISH BOOKSHOP MURDER

This FEBRUARY, we travel to Ireland for one of our Cozy Mystery months. As someone who loves the emerald isle, books, and a good mystery, An Irish Bookshop Murder by Lucy Connely was the perfect pick for my must read list. 

MARCH: THE STOLEN QUEEN

In March we celebrate International Women's Day. Growing up in Eastern Europe, March 8th was a cherished holiday when we celebrated mothers, grandmothers, and all women. That said, this day still holds a special place in my heart. How fitting it is then to feature stories about strong women in history. MARCH is our Historical Mystery month this year and our pick is The Stolen Queen. Written by New York Times bestselling author Fiona Davis, this engrossing page-turner takes us on a search of a lost artifact from the streets of 1936 Cairo to the glamor of 1978 New York City. This exciting read, with one of the most stunning covers I have seen, is a story of resilience, intrigue, glamour, and suspense. 

APRIL: FUNNY STORY

APRIL is our Romance month. Enter Funny Story by Emily Henry. This #1 New York Times bestseller about heart break, new beginnings, finding joy, and opening your heart to love again. It is the perfect read for book clubs and romance fans. 

MAY: THE BOOKSHOP LADIES

How gorgeous and perfect for the month of Mother's Day is this cover?! May is the second month we dedicate to women and our Women's Fiction month. THE BOOKSHOP LADIES by Faith Hogan is an enchanting, uplifting read of friendship, and community, and May book club pick for 2025. This is sure to become one of the best book club picks year after year.  

JUNE: TAKE THE HONEY AND RUN

by JENNIE MARTS

How about a cozy mystery in June! I loved this one and had to include in our book club reads. Take the Honey and Run by Jennie Marts is a sweet, feel-good novel with a dash of romance and laugh-out-loud fun. Fans of light cozy mysteries will love every bit of this charming first installment of the Bee Keeping Mysteries.

JULY: ATMOSPHERE: A LOVE STORY

by Taylor Jenkins Reed

For the month of July we have a rivetting Historical Fiction read. Coming out in the Summer of 2025 Atmosphere, by the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, is a must read. Taylor Jenkins Reid delivers once again a fast-paced, thrilling read that is sure to be one of the best books of the year.

AUGUST: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

SEPTEMBER: THE QUEENS OF CRIME

by Marie Benedict

September is National Cozy Mystery month and what a better way to celebrate than with a story about a secret society formed by the five greatest women crime writers, including the mother of the cozy mystery genre-Agatha Christie. A thrilling adventure, The Queens of Crime by Marie Benedict is the perfect read to curl up with on those lovely fall days and nights perfect for book clubs and will delight cozy mystery fans.

OCTOBER: THE HIGHGATE CEMETERY MURDER

October is Thrilling Reads month, and this year we have a treat. Set in Victorian London, Irina Shapiro's The Highgate Cemetery Murder is a gripping murder mystery that is sure to keep you up at night. From the stunning cover to the vivid writing, the first in the Tate and Bell Mystery series is a must read. The story opens in the Highgate Cemetery and from the first page grabs the reader and doesn't let go. 

NOVEMBER: THE UNMAKING OF JUNE FARROW

November is our Magical Realism month and this breathtaking cover says it all. A New York Times bestseller The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young is a must read for magical realism fans and a favorite with book clubs. A family curse, time travel, enchanting mystery, and a love story will keep you turning the pages late into the night. 

DECEMBER: CHRISTMAS IN THE LITTLE IRISH VILLAGE

December's picks are always holiday inspired and we wouldn't have it otherwise. This year we have a special treat Christmas in the Little Irish Village. This holiday romance is the perfect cozy read to snuggle up with over the holidays. The first in The Little Irish Village series, these feel-good story has it all: humor, romance, and charm. Set in Emerald Bay, Christmas in the Little Irish Village is the perfect uplifting read to close the year with.
